VIP Academy (since 1999): More than a master class! An exclusive and diversified summer festival with intense artistic work and numerous concerts. 32 young pianists will receive a maximum of instruction in 5 individual lessons, one with each professor from our international faculty, and can perform at least in one student recital. A singing course for pianists is also scheduled! For participants from outside of Vienna, there are free practice-rooms!
Vienna, the capital of Central European music, offers the perfect ambiance: The participants perform at Ehrbar Hall, one of Vienna‘s most prestigious concert halls, where Johannes Brahms and Gustav Mahler once appeared! Intensive workshops and two lectures round off the program of VIP Academy. Additionally, there is the opportunity to participate in an interesting cultural and culinary excursion. In case of participation at both VIP Academy and the 6th International Rosario Marciano Piano Competition, there will be no extra competition registration fee.

Naomi Ishii studierte nach dem Abschluss ihrer pianistischen Hochschulausbildung in Japan von 1981-1984 an der Hochschule Mozarteum in Salzburg bei Hans Leygraf. Danach kehrte sie in ihr Heimatland zurück und wurde dort eine der erfolgreichsten Pädagoginnen in der Ausbildung junger Klaviertalente. Ständig werden ihre Schülerinnen und Schüler mit ersten Preisen beim PTNA-Wettbewerb, dem japanischen Studentenwettbewerb, dem Japanischen Wettbewerb für klassische Musik und anderen Musikwettbewerben ausgezeichnet. Sie selbst erhält in jedem Jahr den „Teachers‘ Award“ (seit 2001 von der PTNA, der japanischen Piano Teachers‘ National Association und seit 2005 vom Japanischen Wettbewerb für Klassische Musik. 2005 und 2011 verlieh ihr die PTNA sogar den „Special Teacher’s Award“! Naomi Ishii ist neben ihrer Konzerttätigkeit Jurorin vieler verschiedener Wettbewerbe und hält Vorträge und Meisterkurse in ganz Japan. Seit 2010 organisiert sie den gesamtjapanischen Bach-Wettbewerb. zurück
Following her Japanese Music University graduate, Naomi Ishii continued her studies at the Music University Mozarteum in Salzburg with Hans Leygraf from 1981 to 84. Then she returned to her home country and became one of the most successful Japanese pedagogues in the education of young piano talents. A great number of her students continuously get first prizes at the PTNA Competition, the Japanese Students Competition, the Japanese Competition for Classical Music and many other contests. Ms. Ishii herself is annually given the „Teachers‘ Award“: since 2001 by PTNA, the Japanese Piano Teachers National Association and since 2005 by the Japanese Competition for Classical Music. In 2005 she even received the PTNA’s „Special Teacher’s Award“! Next to her concertizing, Naomi Ishii adjudicates at many different competitions and holds lectures and master-classes all over Japan. Since 2010 she is director of the all-Japanese Bach Competition. back

HEEJIN KIM South Korea

Die Aktivitäten der koreanischen Pianistin Heejin Kim weisen eine imponierende Zahl von Konzertaufführungen, Wettbewerben und akademischen Errungenschaften auf. Ihre Karriere begann 1970 mit dem ersten Preis im Klavierwettbewerb der Zeitung Hanguk ilbo. Anknüpfend an diesen Erfolg gewann sie noch viele andere Wettbewerbe, bevor sie 1988 beim Musikfestival in Aspen (Colorado) ihr professionelles Konzertdebut gab. Heejin Kim ist mit zahlreichen Orchestern in bedeutenden Spielstätten der Welt aufgetreten, einschließlich des Royal Philharmonic Orchestra London, der Prager und Krakauer Philharmoniker und wichtiger koreanischer Orchester wie Suwon Metropolitan Philharmonic und KBS Orchestra. Neben den wichtigsten koreanischen Konzertsälen spielt sie auch weltweit in berühmten Sälen wie der Smetana Hall Prag, Musashino Hall Tokio und der Cadogan und Wigmore Hall London. The Korean pianist Heejin Kim boasts an impressive résumé of concert performances, competitions, and academic achievements. Her success began early, taking first prize in a piano contest hosted by the Hanguk ilbo newspaper in 1970. Following this achievement, she went on to win many other competitions before making her professional concert début in 1988 at the Aspen Music Festival. Heejin Kim has performed with a number of orchestras at major concert venues around the world, including the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra London, Prague and Krakow Philharmonic Orchestra and many important Korean Orchestras like Suwon Metropolitan Philharmonic Orchestra and KBS Orchestra. Heejin Kim has also performed at numerous venues in Korea, as well as concert halls around the world, including the Smetana Hall in Prague, the Musashino Hall in Tokyo, and Cadogan and Wigmore Hall in London. Carol
Morgan wurde in England geboren. Nach dem Studium am Royal College
of Music in London folgte ein längerer Aufenthalt in Deutschland,
wo sie unter anderem bei Alfons Kontarsky studierte. Neben dem klassisch-romantischen
Repertoire ist sie seit vielen Jahren eine herausragende Interpretin
zeitgenössischer Musik, sowohl solistisch als auch in den Bereichen
Lied- und Kammermusik. Nach langjähriger Erfahrung in mehreren
Ensembles tritt sie zunehmend mit spannenden Programmen auf, in
denen sie traditionelles Repertoire mit Werken des 20. und 21. Jahrhunderts
kombiniert. Ihre Interpretationen sind gekennzeichnet von unbestechlicher
Texttreue und treffsicherem Gespür für die Verschiedenheit
der unterschiedlichen Kompositionsstile. zurück
Carol Morgan was born in England. After her studies at the Royal
College of Music in London she lived in Germany for some time, where
she studied, among others, with Alfons Kontarsky. Apart from the
classical-romantic repertoire, she has been for many years among
the leading interpreters for the music by contemporary composers,
both for solo piano as also for song and chamber music. After playing
for a long time in various ensembles she now concentrates on exciting
programmes which combine the traditional repertoire with the music
of the 20th and 21st century. Her interpretations are characterized
of incorruptible text loyalty and accurate feeling for the difference
of the various composition styles. back

Stephan Möller wurde in Hamburg
geboren. Er erhielt seine Ausbildung als Pianist und Dirigent in
Hamburg, Bremen und Salzburg. Von 1983-89 arbeitete er bei den Salzburger
Festspielen mit Dirigenten wie Herbert von Karajan zusammen. 1985
war er Preisträger des Internationalen Beethoven-Klavierwettbewerbs
Wien. Seine Konzerttätigkeit führt ihn durch ganz Europa,
die USA, Japan und China. Schwerpunkte seines Repertoires sind Beethovens
32 Klaviersonaten und 5 Klavierkonzerte, Liszt-Paraphrasen über
Wagner-Opern und Kompositionen für den Bösendorfer-Computerflügel.
Unter seinen CD-Einspielungen finden sich Raritäten wie Beethovens
Große Fuge und Wagners gesamtes Klavierwerk. Stephan Möller
lehrt an der Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst

Stephan Möller
was born in Hamburg. He studied piano performance and orchestra
conducting in Hamburg, Bremen and Salzburg. 1983-1989, he worked
at the Salzburg Festival with Herbert von Karajan. In 1985, he was
a prize-winner at the international Beethoven Piano Competition
in Vienna, Austria. Stephan Möller is busily concertizing all
over Europe, the USA, Japan and China. Repertoire highlights are
Beethoven's 32 piano sonatas and 5 piano concertos, Liszt´s
concert paraphrases on Wagner's operas, and compositions for the
computer-assisted Bösendorfer grand piano. Among his CD recordings,
there are such rarities as Beethoven’s Grosse Fuge and Wagner’s
complete piano music. Stephan Möller is on the faculty at the
University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna, Austria. back

Leonne
Lewis’ vielfältige Karriere umfasst Tätigkeiten
als Konzertpianistin, Musikjournalistin und Konzertagentin. Seit
ihrem Debüt mit dem San Francisco Symphony Orchester im Alter
von 10 Jahren mit Haydns D-Dur-Konzert ist sie in zahlreichen Konzerten
als Solistin und Kammermusikerin in Kalifornien und New York aufgetreten.
Musikjournalistisch ist Leonne Lewis als beratende Herausgeberin
der Zeitschrift „Clavier“, als Autorin in „Strings“,
„Strad“ und „Wiener Zeitung“ tätig.
Sie hält Vorträge an Universitäten und bei Musikfestivals
und der Music Teachers Association of California, deren Präsidentin
sie eine Zeitlang war. Themen sind das Zeitalter der Romantik, Beethoven
und seine Welt u.a. Leonne Lewis absolvierte ihr Klavier-Konzertfachstudium
an der University of Southern California und der California State

Leonne Lewis has a varied career as a pianist,
music journalist and concert manager. Since playing the Haydn D
Major concerto with the San Francisco Symphony at age 10, she has
performed frequently as soloist and chamber musician throughout
California and New York. Leonne's accomplishments as music journalist
include Consulting Editor of Clavier magazine and contributor to
Strings, Strad and the Wiener Zeitung newspaper of Vienna, Austria.
She gives lectures at universities and music festivals and the Music
Teachers' Association of California (where she was past president)
on the romantic era, Beethoven and His World, and other musical
subjects. Leonne received her bachelor and master of arts degrees
in piano performance from the University of Southern California
and California State University. back

GÜNTHER ZERBES Austria (d, e, f, i, s)
Der erfahrene Pädagoge und Sänger legt besonderen Wert auf eine ganzheitliche Auffassung vom Singen, das nicht nur als Transport von Tönen nach außen betrachtet werden soll, sondern als Selbsterfahrung und ständige Selbsterweiterung des Musikers.
GÜNTHER ZERBES wurde am 21. 02. 1964 in Wien geboren. Medizin- und Gesangsstudium an der Universität Wien und Hochschule für Muisk und darstellende Kunst Wien bei Prof. Adelheid Schmid und Prof. Rolf Sartorius, Günther Zerbes ist Chorsänger, zunächst im Wiener Madrigalchor, seit 1990 im Wiener Staatsopernchor. Daneben geht er einer regen Unterrichtstätigkeit im Fach Gesang sowie in Fremdsprachen nach. Seit kurzem ist Günther Zerbes auch wieder als Solist einer reisenden Operntruppe tätig, als Bariton im angestammten Fach sowie Ausflüge ins tiefe Bassfach. zurück

KRYSTIAN TKACZEWSKI Poland/USA (d, pl)
Der “polnische Virtuose” (Koniuszko Foundation) Krystian Tkaczewski verfolgt seine glänzende Karriere sowohl in den USA als auch in Europa. Im April 2007 gab er ein triumphales Debüt in der Carnegie Hall.
Krystian Tkaczewski, geboren 1980 in Tarnów (Polen), studierte bei Olga Rusina an der Musikakademie in Wroclaw (m.a.) und bei Oxana Yablonskaya und an der University of Hartford (Diplom), wo er gegenwärtig an seinem Doktorat arbeitet.
Er ist erster Preisträger des European Piano Competition in Bari, Italien, Inter-fest Piano Competition in Bitola, Mazedonien (beide 2001), CSMTA Piano Competition in Hartford, CT, 2006 Artists International Auditions in New York, Bradshaw & Buono Piano Competition New York (alle 2006) und American Protégé Piano Competition in New York, 2009.
Seine Konzerttätigkeit erstreckt sich über vier Kontinente und umfasst Auftritte mit vielen Orchestern in Polen und USA, darunter das Orchester des Polnischen Rundfunks, die Philharmonie Wroclaw und das Hartford Symphonieorchester. Krystian Tkaczewski aktives Mitglied der polnischen Musikervereinigung SPAM (seit 2004), Gründer und künstlerischer Leiter des Chopin International Piano Competition in Hartford und künstlerischer Leiter der Chopin-Gesellschaft in Connecticut. zurück
Described as “Polish Virtuoso” (by the Kosciuszko Foundation), Krystian Tkaczewski is pursuing his splendid piano career both in USA and Europe. In April 2007, he gave his triumphant Carnegie Hall debut.
